The Road to Recovery x2!

Wow, what a difference a week makes!
Andre is happily recovering. He has been so good about keeping his ear 'cone' on through the healing process. There is also a new fashion statement at our house... Andre prefers to wear his cone reversed! It looks more like a Christmas tree skirt. :) To help with his recovery, Andre has been dining (even stealing) my fresh tomatoes from the back yard! I think it's helping, he should be set to gave his stitches removed this Friday.

The excitement continued! Last Friday, Taylor had two lumps removed. We were fortunate that neither was anything to worry about right now... but, we will continue to monitor to avoid reoccurrences. For now, Taylor is taking it easy allowing his new stitches time to heal. Eight days to go and his cone and stitches are gone! Three cheers!!!

So once again we continue to heal! Thank goodness for pet insurance and great vets. :)

Little Challenges and Big Celebrations

What a busy day!

It began with us noticing Andre had fluid on his ear flap... turns out he has an aural hematoma! What is that do you ask? A blood vessel burst in his ear flap creating a pocket of fluid. We are heading to surgery tomorrow to get fixed up. :)

On the positive side, it's a big day for Taylor! Today we have officially been 'cancer free' for two years. Three cheers!!! We celebrated with Buttercream Cupcakery for everybody!

I feel so lucky tonight for my amazing boys!

Seeing The Light

Well, it's been confirmed, Andre's eyes are getting worse... but he can still 'see the light'... well a bit. :) Living with a blind dog has taken many twists over the last couple weeks. I can't get enough tips and tricks to make his life easier, thank goodness for Google!

So, as I try to reduce Andre's obstacles in life, he continues to brighten our lives! Who knew a blind dog could still chase a tennis ball? Well our Andre can! :)

I sign off tonight grateful for the two amazing dogs I call my family!

Happy Mother's Day! (Even to Dog Moms)

After a busy couple months... We're back!

The boys and I had a wonderful Mother's Day. We potted flowers, watered trees and spent time with my amazing family! Today is one of those days I find interesting... I get asked 'if I am a mom?' periodically. My response, 'of course!' Except my kids are furry and four legged. :) But, I wouldn't trade them or their challenges for any two legged kids!

Happy mother's day to all types of moms out there! :)

Vet Visits and More!

What a busy week!

Andre got an eye check-up...still not producing tears in the left eye, but eye pressures were great! Then we went to the dermatologist for an annual exam... Lots of itchy spots, but no real infection. So one could say, we are as healthy as can be!

Taylor had it easy getting over his cold. He is still sneezing and thinking he s under attack! Silly dog. :)

And... I am in my last week of my digital strategy class with the final paper done and submitted - now on to the presentation. :) We are almost there!

This week, I had he best partner-in-crime helping with my paper... thank you Taylor!!
