A Weekend of Adventure!

What a weekend! We got to get away and headed up to the Teva Mountain Games in Vail... thanks Mom, Dad and Granny for watching the boys! :)

The fun included getting to see Jager break the world record in the DockDog Big Air jump... it was amazing! I can't wait to see him compete on tv later this year... the boys and I will be cheering this rescue dog on.

The weekend also included watching the kayaking, rafting, biking, Rocky Dog trail run (Taylor and I can totally do this!), speed retrieve (this is Andre's expertise!) and getting a bunch of swag. We got to meet Elvis, the nine year old terrier who took fifth place in the speed retrieve this morning showing size and age don't matter (we can learn a lot from him). We got to see Eddie, the official black lab of Eddie Bauer. A shout out to the 170 pound mastiff (we watched BigAir with) and the cute little itchy Boston terrier (that reminded us of our Andre).

We saw athletes and animals alike that beat life's obstacles. From the three legged shepard mix and one eyed retriever... to the poor guy who couldn't stay standing practicing for surf cross and the biker who crashed in the mountain bike racing.

Best of all, we scoped out the competition for the 2012 games! This weekend taught us, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog! Now, we are back home with our boys, giving them their the Vail Pet Partners bandanas and getting ready for the week ahead. :)

By chance, if the lady from the North Face store is reading this... Go with your gut and rescue the blind, deaf and three legged dog! To the man in the store, he has fight and will learn to hike with your help. :)
