Blogging from the iPad

I think I finally figured it out! According to reviews... this app, BlogPress, works with Blogger. So this is our big test and we are crossing our fingers. :)

In the mean time, it has been a great holiday weekend. The boys started it off with a big delivery from Three Dog Bakery, Taylor got groomed and Andre got a pedicure. It's good being a dog in my house!

I did finally finish my book, Amazing Gracie. As expected I needed a tissue box. :) I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a good summer book!

The Gift of a Dog

There he is... my little inspiration!
"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened" Anatole France

I recently got an iPad and what fun it is... Blogger if you are listening I need an app for my blog!

Anyway back to the iPad... I'm trying out a bunch of e-readers to see which one I like best to purchase text books on in the fall. (Jim would be telling me right now to get to the point so...) I purchased the book Amazing Gracie written by one of the founders of Three Dog Bakery - our favorite dog treat store. I have never read a book that explains basic business principles while telling the story of an amazing dog the inspired the whole organization. I deserve extra credit for my summer reading!

The book is about Gracie, a deaf and partially blind albino Great Dane. All I can say, is I don't feel alone anymore! I thought my boys had challenges... Gracie had quite a few of her own. I'm at about 80% of the book (I love that the app can tell me that) and to say I have been inspired is an understatement. How lucky this dog was to have such a great owner, but in return I'm reminded what wonderful gifts and lessons a dog provides. So, tonight I'm going to try and finish the story. I'm a bit nervous because these types of books usually end one way... better grab the tissues.

It's been so much fun choosing what I read at night and this book made me stop and think so many times. Overall, it reminds me how lucky I am to have my boys! I can't imagine life without them. Maybe some day I'll be inspired to tell their story... and maybe somebody will write about it in their dog blog!

From the boys: Thank you Gracie, for giving us Three Dog Bakery!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Hey there, when are these getting planted?!

Well, it's springtime in Colorado... we are getting rain, rain and more rain! We are all getting a bit of cabin fever and want to go outside and play. Where is the sunshine?

At the beginning of the week Taylor would go outside and play in the rain. When presented with the opportunity to go outside - Taylor just stands on the patio, in the rain, looking around like he doesn't know what to do anymore. It's cute!

Guilty? Me? I wasn't digging in any plants! :)

Andre on the other hand, we have to chase outside and make him go into the rain. (sigh) That's our boys! :)

We have big weekend plans, including finally planting our container vegetable and herb garden. Three cheers! I've been moving my delicate plants inside at night and the boys are very confused with the process. I'm just crossing my fingers that the boys don't try to snack on them before they are ready to harvest. :)

Stop and Smell the Flowers

The weather just isn't working for us this spring... sunny when I have to work and rainy on the weekends. But, I tricked mother nature by taking Friday off and going on a hike! Check out the view! If only the boys could have joined us... we'll just have to make up for it with a good walk.

It may have been rainy all weekend but, it didn't stop the tulips from blooming! Thank you neighborhood bunnies for now chewing up the buds this year. :)

Now, the boys and I are just crossing our fingers (and paws) we can get our container garden planted this weekend and start growing some vegetables - or at least try to.

Checks and Balances

Do we have money for treats this week?
There are days you just capture images that make you smile. Thanks to my boys, I'm surrounded by these fun and special moments.

While balancing my checkbook, Taylor decided to join in on the fun! When I came back from grabbing something in the kitchen, I found him carefully analyzing the numbers!

Hmm, I wonder if he decided to add to the balance? :)

It's Summer!

Looks like Taylor's an expert at this!
Summer has officially started here in Colorado... at least at our house! :) My tulips are in bloom, the grass is green (thanks to Jim) and the whole yard is beautiful.

We had a weekend of fun outside. Taylor hung out with me while I planted my beautiful flowers and prepared for my new container garden. The flower options were amazing this year, I can't wait to see how they all grow! I'm also crossing my fingers that the boys leave the fruits of my labor alone. :)

In true Taylor fashion, he got a hold of Jim's empty frappuccino cup and enjoyed the leftover whipped cream from the bottom. Some things never change.

Andre, graced us with his presence throughout the day, but claimed his cool spot in the house where he didn't have to listen to us animals. :)

Combined with some great mother's day BBQ we had a successful weekend! Too bad it came to an end.

Time For a Break

Three cheers!! It's been crazy but we are finally ready for summer break. I am officially done with business law and ethics. :) Andre and Taylor are very excited for the break and to have quiet evenings.

Taylor is loving the warm weather. He got groomed last Friday and looks great! He strained his shoulder playing around so has been getting a lot of TLC. But, he's feeling good enough to pose for photos. What a cute photo - photoshopped with my new ipad! He looks so innocent - ha! We aren't fooled. :)

Andre got a clean bill of health from his eye vet today. It seems the medicine is working well and his eye pressures are staying down. So we can hopefully avoid vet offices for the next 3-4 months. The only exception may be a nail trim.

Well, now that classes are done for a bit I'll get to spend more time blogging the adventures of our summer. I can hardly wait. We are planning on a bunch of big celebrations: Andre turns 10 and Taylor is approaching his one year anniversary of his cancer diagnosis. It's going to be great times, I can just feel it!
